Description de l'événement
Legendary venues don’t come any better than Le Mans, with MotoGP™’s French Grand Prix taking over the Bugatti Circuit for a fantastic, fan-filled weekend every year. With home hero Johann Zarco on the grid, bikes are the boss for the weekend when MotoGP™ rolls into town – with awesome crowds and a great atmosphere!

Last year, Le Mans was a duel to remember between Movistar Yamaha MotoGP teammates Maverick Viñales and Valentino Rossi. The two fought it out over the last lap until a crash for Rossi saw the ‘Doctor’ slide out, and Viñales back on the top step after a tough home race at Jerez. And there was a lot for the home crowd to cheer as home hero and rookie superstar Johann Zarco (Monster Yamaha Tech 3) took his first ever podium in the premier class – from a front row start. But Zarco had gone through Q1 in qualifying, as did Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) - the man who completed the podium. Pedrosa didn’t move through and made it from P13 on the grid to the rostrum. In Moto2™, it was another win for Franco Morbidelli after the disappointment of having crashed out in Jerez, and Joan Mir stamped more authority on the Moto3™ World Championship after another stunning win – after some high drama and a huge pile up in the initial stages.

About the circuit
Built in 1965 around the existing 24-Hour track, the Le Mans Bugatti Grand Prix race circuit lies 5km south of the city of Le Mans and 200km south-west of Paris. The venue has hosted Grand Prix since the late sixties but a serious accident to Spanish rider Alberto Puig in 1995 saw it struck off the calendar until 2000 whilst stringent safety improvements were carried out.

Le Mans is a tight track dominated by first gear corners that place the emphasis on late braking and hard acceleration, whilst rear end traction is also a key area. With the capacity to comfortably accommodate up to 100,000 spectators, the Bugatti circuit also plays host to the 24 hour truck race, the FIA GP2 Championship, French Touring Car and GT races.
